252. Cabbagetown Festival

September 9, 2011

Each year the Cabbagetown Festival celebrates the sights, sounds, people and community of one of Toronto’s favourite neighbourhoods – Cabbagetown! Festivities include the Cabbagetown Art & Crafts Sale, stage entertainment, a “Grand Parade,” plenty of pub and patio entertainers, street vendors, a Short Film & Video Festival, “Blair’s Run,” pub crawl, Riverdale Farm Fall Harvest Festival, walking tours of historic Cabbagetown, and much more!

The festival started on September 7th and continues until September 11th, so there’s still plenty of time to be part of all the fun – in fact, many of the festival’s events begin today! For more information, go to the Cabbagetown Festival’s website.

102. Visit Riverdale Farm

April 12, 2011

It’s Spring, and farms all over the country are coming to life – including Toronto’s very own Riverdale Farm!

Riverdale Farm

Located at 201 Winchester Street in Riverdale Park just east of Cabbagetown, Riverdale Farm is a beautiful 7.5 acre representation of a rural farm in Ontario. Tour wooded areas, enjoy a stroll around the farm’s ponds, and of course, don’t forget a visit with the animals! You’ll meet sheep and lambs, chickens, pigs, goats, and many more!

Admission to Riverdale Farm is free. The Farm is open year round from 9am to 5pm, and is wheelchair and stroller accessible. From May to October, you can enjoy a Farmers’ Market in front of the Farm on Tuesdays from 3pm to 7pm. For more information, go to The Friends of Riverdale Farm Website.
