October 16, 2011
Including a marathon, half marathon and 5k, the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon gets started today at 9am! Get up early and cheer on participants as they make their way from University Avenue north of Adelaide Street, down University, east on Front, east on Parliament, to the Lakeshore Boulevard, west on Lakeshore, turn around and head East on Lakeshore to the finish line at City Hall, Nathan Phillips Square. You’re too late to join in the race this year, but you are definitely welcome to get inspired and start training for next year! As a spectator/cheerleader, if you’re strategic in your location, you’ll be able to enjoy live bands and performers on stages every 2 kilometres throughout the race – another reason to get yourself ready to run in next year’s race! Keep in mind that participants are also welcome to choose a charity to raise donations and run for, so start thinking about who you’ll run for in 2012.
