The holiday season may still be over a month away, but if you are interested in making your own wine or beer for gifts, entertaining, or a New Year’s celebration, now is the time to get started! At Fermentations it will take only ten minutes for you to brew a batch of beer, but the fermentation process takes about two weeks. For wine, you can select fresh juice or grapes to get your ideal product, but the fermenting takes about eight weeks, so your wine should be ready just in time for you to ring in 2012 with your very own hand-crafted beverage!
Fermentations offers over 35 different styles of beer on their regular menu and can clone most commercial brews and even create beers that exist only in your dreams! Choose from more than 100 different wines – you can even select which country you would like your grapes to come from and decide whether you want a wine that is suited for long-term aging or quick consumption! Imagine the look on your guests’ faces when you tell them that you made the wine or beer they are drinking!
Prices depend on the type of beer or wine you choose to make. A 23 litre batch of beer starts at about $66.50 (about $1 per beer), and wine ranges from about $155 to $182 per batch (26-30 bottles).
